The magic of Christmas returns to Southend this festive season with Father Christmas’s enchanting Grotto at The Royals Shopping Centre. From Saturday, 15 November to Christmas Eve, families are invited to step into a winter wonderland and meet the man in red himself — Santa Claus!
Nestled in the heart of The Royals Shopping Centre, this festive experience offers children and parents the chance to make memories that will last a lifetime. The grotto will open at weekends from mid-November, giving families an early taste of the Christmas spirit. Then, from 15th–24th December, Father Christmas will be in residence every day — spreading joy, laughter, and a hearty “Ho, ho, ho!” to all who visit.
With special midweek sessions on 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th December, there’s even more opportunity to experience the festive magic without the rush. Each visit costs just £7.50 per child (plus a £1.00 booking fee per booking) and includes plenty of festive fun, a chance to chat with Father Christmas, and an opportunity to make Christmas wishes come true.
Parents can also browse a wonderful range of personalised Christmas gifts, available to order in advance or purchase on the day — perfect keepsakes to remember your child’s special encounter.
The grotto is beautifully decorated to capture the spirit of Christmas — sparkling lights, festive music, and cheerful elves helping Santa prepare for the big night. The entire experience has been thoughtfully designed to make each child feel truly special, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with excitement and wonder.
