There’s an impressive collection of historical objects, photographs, and stories — each one shining a light on the world’s longest pleasure pier and the people who built, worked, and played upon it.

Climb Aboard Vintage Trains

Train lovers of all ages will be thrilled to find not one, but three full-size trains on display, including an original c.1890 electric “toastrack” tram. You can climb aboard and get a real feel for how visitors once travelled the length of the pier.

Add to that a working signal box simulator and a train driver experience, and you’ve got a museum that’s every bit as hands-on as it is informative.

Penny Slots & Nostalgia Galore

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a fun selection of old-fashioned penny slot machines, perfect for a trip down memory lane. It’s a real hit with both kids and adults, and makes for a lovely way to round off your visit.

The museum is free to enter, but as a charitable foundation, donations are warmly welcomed to help keep this wonderful little place running for future generations.

How to Find It

To visit, simply pop into the Visitor Information Centre at the entrance to the pier, then walk to the right of the railway entrance — you'll see the signs guiding you straight there.
