From April 2025, Southend-on-Sea City Council will transition its recycling and waste collection services, including the garden waste collection scheme, to a new contractor, SUEZ. Here’s what you need to know:
- No Service Disruptions: If you already subscribe to the garden waste collection scheme, your service will continue as usual.
- Same Bins: Your current garden waste bin is yours to keep and will still be used after April 2025.
- New Subscribers Welcome: Existing subscribers can renew their service, and new customers can join the scheme without interruption.
Updates and Assurances
- Council Statement: Cllr Lydia Hyde, Cabinet Member for Climate, Environment, and Waste, reassures residents:
“Your garden waste collection will remain unchanged, and SUEZ will uphold the high standards our community expects.” - SUEZ Commitment: Vincent Masseri, General Manager at SUEZ, says:
“We’re focused on a smooth transition to continue providing weekly garden waste collections for current and new subscribers.”
