London Southend Airport has climbed 15 places in the UK’s airport punctuality rankings, new data released by the UK Civil Aviation Authority can reveal.
The latest CAA 2025 statistics show that the airport delivered the most significant improvement in on-time performance across the UK, rising 15 places in the national punctuality league while also becoming the most punctual airport in London, with 77.6% of flights departing or arriving within 15 minutes of schedule.
The airport’s operational achievements come at the same time as substantial growth in passenger numbers. London Southend tripled its annual traffic to 720,000 passengers in 2025 and moved up four places in the rankings of UK airports for passenger volume rising from 26th to 22nd.
The strong performance showcases the airport’s ability to balance rapid growth whilst delivering a brilliant experience for passengers.
Jude Winstanley, CEO of London Southend Airport, attributes this success to the team working across the award-winning airport.
He said: “I am incredibly proud of what our teams have achieved over the past year. To triple our passenger volumes whilst moving up 15 places in the UK punctuality rankings and climbing four places in passenger volume standings is a clear demonstration of their dedication, professionalism and commitment. We know how important it is for passengers to fly on time, so this matter.
“This progress does not happen by chance. It is the result of consistent hard work across every part of the airport. Our teams all work together to deliver an easy, speedy, friendly experience for passengers.”
London Southend continues to strengthen its position within the UKs biggest aviation market – and the UK – and is well placed to build on this momentum throughout 2026 and beyond.
