Westcliff Murder Investigation: Police Seek Witnesses
A murder investigation has been launched in Westcliff after a man was killed in a violent attack last evening. Emergency services quickly responded to reports of a serious assault on London Road at the junction with Hamlet Court Road.
Incident Details
Police arrived to find two men injured. Despite immediate medical attention, one man was declared dead at the scene. Another man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Arrest Made
A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held in custody. The scene remains cordoned off as investigators work to understand the events leading to the assault.

Detective Inspector Lisa Hurrell from Essex Police is calling for anyone with information to come forward.
“We are at the early stages of this investigation and are working to establish the circumstances,” said Det Insp Hurrell. “A cordon will stay in place on Hamlet Court Road overnight and tomorrow.”
She added, “We are grateful for the support from those who witnessed the assault and urge anyone else who saw what happened or has dashcam footage to contact us.”
