Charity Honours Its Volunteers with a Party and Awards Ceremony
Southend in Sight recently celebrated its dedicated team of volunteers with a special party, followed by an awards ceremony to thank them for their continued support throughout the year.
The High Sheriff of Essex, David Hurst, attended the event and was honored with an award recognizing his remarkable 10 years of voluntary service with Southend in Sight. Twelve other volunteers were also celebrated for their long-standing contributions, receiving awards for service durations ranging from 5 to 20 years.
Lucy Martin, CEO of Southend in Sight, expressed her gratitude:
“Our volunteers go above and beyond—whether it’s offering IT advice at our center, providing support over the phone to isolated residents, making drinks at our coffee mornings, or serving customers in our charity shop.”
