Southend isn’t just part of the Blow Up story—it’s the heart of it. Back in his art school days at Southend College, Paul Tunkin, founder of Blow Up, was spinning tracks, throwing parties, and dreaming big.

It was at his Southend club night, The Periphery, where Paul first mapped out what would become Blow Up. Around the same time, he was DJing iconic gigs in London for the likes of Suede, Blur, and My Life Story, blending sounds from the capital with the vibes of Southend’s nightlife. The result? The legendary Blow Up we know and love today.
