This month’s edition highlights several issues that may appear unrelated but share a common thread: the future of our community and whether infrastructure is keeping pace with change.

Our feature on the proposed Mount Bovers development raises important questions about housing growth, healthcare, roads, drainage and protecting the countryside that helps define our area’s character. Equally concerning are reports of sewage flooding affecting a Southend family, reminding us that infrastructure failures have very real consequences for residents.

We also examine proposals that could see Essex Police merged into a much larger regional force. Whatever your view, it raises important questions about local accountability and whether decisions affecting Southend should be made closer to home.
