‘Kiss Me Quick’ – After Hours

Step into Southend’s entertainment past at Kiss Me Quick – After Hours, an evening exploring the Central Museum’s immersive exhibition, Kiss Me Quick: A Love Letter to Southend. The exhibition traces the town’s development as a seaside destination, from its early health and wellbeing appeal to its popularity with visitors from east London.

Discover the places, sounds and experiences that helped shape Southend’s cultural life, including amusements, theatres, bandstands, cinemas and the Kursaal. The exhibition brings this history together through objects, photographs, audio and other ephemera, offering a lively look at the city’s seaside entertainment heritage.

Doors open at 6pm, with time to explore the museum and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine before a tour beginning at 6.30pm. The evening concludes by 8pm and includes insights from Senior Curator Vittorio Ricchetti. This event is for ages 18 and over, and advance booking is essential via Eventbrite.
