Challenge perceptions, rethink narratives, and explore overlooked histories. The Beecroft Art Gallery proudly presents Reject Reflect Reclaim, a bold and thought-provoking group exhibition curated by the TOMA (The Other MA) 2024/25 cohort.

This compelling exhibition invites audiences to re-examine art history, cultural memory, and identity by engaging with the Beecroft’s extensive collection. Through new artistic responses, the 15 participating artists explore themes of representation, gender, colonialism, violence, and identity, shining a light on voices and histories often left out of traditional narratives.

What to Expect?

🖌️ A dynamic and evocative exhibition featuring new works inspired by over 2,000 pieces from the Beecroft’s permanent collection.
🎥 TOMA Takeover on Southend’s Big Screen – 60-second films by the artists will be screened daily in Elmer Square from 22nd February to 21st March.
🤝 Meet the artists – The private view includes a walk from Elmer Square to Beecroft Art Gallery for an immersive experience.
📜 Reinterpret the archives – Discover how art curation and preservation influence collective memory and contemporary creativity.
