Stuart Allen, leader of the newly formed Green & Progressive Independents Group, shares his vision for Southend and what he believes our community should be striving to protect. He highlights the importance of thoughtful planning and strong local advocacy as we look ahead to the city’s future.
Southend Against Sewage raises an important warning. They explain how a proposed 1,100 houses in Bedford was delayed after Anglian Water confirmed it could not support the additional demand. Despite these concerns, Bedford Borough Council granted approval, leaving residents and campaigners anxious about how the area will cope without the right infrastructure in place. Their insight serves as a timely reminder, especially as many in Southend worry about similar challenges linked to current development plans.
