Year 13 students at Chase High School Sixth Form, in Westcliff, collected their A-level results today after the summer’s exams.
Students enrolling in university has surged by 15 per cent compared to last year, reaching its highest level on record. More students than ever before have secured their first choice of university for the next step of their education journey.
Students are moving on to a wide range of destinations, including Anglian Ruskin University, University of Bath, Hertfordshire University and University of Westminster. They will study subjects including medical science, psychology, nursing, media, sport and law.
Among the high achievers this year are:
- Maria Ali – Four Distinction grades in business studies and media studies
- Ella Base – Two Distinction* and one Distinction in business studies and sport
- Naia Broughton – One Distinction* and one Distinction in media studies and an A in photography
- Charlie Davison – Two Distinction and two Merit grades in media studies and sport
- Phoebe De Leon – Two Distinction* in applied science and a B in biology A-level
- Wesley Hoyi – One Distinction*, one Distinction and two Merit grades in business studies and media studies
- Adaeze Ibeneme – Three Distinction grades in applied science and health and social care
- Tia Islam – Grade A in photography and one Distinction*, one Distinction and one Merit in media studies and business studies
- Cain Msipha – Double Distinction in applied science and a Merit in sport
- Jemima Omombo – Double Distinction* in business studies, B in English and C in psychology. Enrolled on a unique programme with Harvard University and plans to set up her own business
- Chloe Shaw – Distinction in art and B grades in English and photography
- Harry Short – One Distinction*, one Distinction in sport and B in geography
- Jayden Smithson – Double Distinction in sport and Merit in business studies
- Andrew Symeonides – Two Distinction* and two Distinctions in media studies and sport
- Sakina Taqi – One Distinction and two Merits in applied science and health and social care
Head of sixth form Emma Mulford said:
