Southend Against Sewage is urging residents to take part in this year’s ‘Paddle Out Protest’ at Chalkwell Beach on Saturday 16 May, as campaigners continue to call for action over sewage pollution affecting local waterways and beaches.
The event, taking place between 11:30am and 2pm, is being co-hosted with Surfers Against Sewage as part of a nationwide day of action aimed at demanding cleaner waterways and greater accountability from the water industry.
Organisers say communities across the UK will be joining together to call for an end to sewage pollution and increased transparency over water quality issues.
Residents are invited to attend whether they paddle board, swim, or simply wish to show support from the shoreline. Organisers are encouraging people to bring placards, voices, and “good vibes” to the protest.
