This is a quick easy supper and a reminder of paella. It is a recipe from Lisa Faulkner (John Torodes wife) and is very economical as can be taken to work the next day or leftovers can be reheated as a side dish for another meal. There are only a few ingredients and its quick to cook for the whole family. Enjoy!

Pumpkin, squash and shallots are all in season at this time of year and as we go into autumn why not try a lovely beef stew originating in Trinidad and Tobago. Scotch bonnet chillies are very fiery so err on the side of caution if you don’t want it too hot. Enjoy!

This is a rather special recipe. I love apricots but usually a disappointment so use tinned, they are very good, but use any summer fruits, raspberries or strawberries too. There are some cheats as the recipe given has varying skills of making your own meringue cuite, custard and caramel. You can however buy meringue nests, buy custard and add amaretto and buy a bottle of caramel. Bob’s your uncle, dessert sorted. However, if you want to cook from scratch the result is fab. Enjoy!

This is a quick delicious salad with the crunchy radish and apple and the bite of the poppyseeds gives every bite a little surprise. Enjoy!

This pasta dish is from Umbria and is great for a quick midweek meal. The intense flavour of the porcini is what gives the pasta its flavour. If you can get Italian sausages, great, if not add fennel seeds for an authentic flavour. Enjoy!

A simple healthy supper that you can make in 20 minutes. It is a recipe I pulled out of Good food and its delicious and quick. You just need 2 frying pans. I usually add some new potatoes if I want to make it a little more substantial but leave off if you are being good.

This slow cooked lamb with north African spicing is so easy to leave in the oven if you have family or friends coming. The couscous gets flavoured with all the juices from the pan. Serve at the table and the lamb should be super tender. Enjoy!

This is an easy dessert as it uses shop bought ready-rolled puff pastry and lemon curd. You can use other berries if you want to change the blueberries. It’s a really good cheat if you haven’t got time to make a cheesecake. Enjoy!

This recipe just serves 2 and when trying to cut down in January forget the takeaways and try this healthier option. Fillet is expensive so you could replace with a cheaper cut. Its very quick to make in a wok or frying pan and super tasty. Enjoy!
