Southend in Sight has released its 2024 impact report, showcasing the impressive results of its charity work in supporting Southend’s visually impaired community.
Making a Difference in Numbers
📍 Based on Hamlet Court Road, the Southend in Sight centre provided support to 477 individuals last year through 1,433 sessions, covering:
✔️ Tech support
✔️ Form filling
✔️ Regular well-being phone calls
Beyond essential support, 134 activity sessions took place, offering engaging opportunities such as:
🎵 Choir sessions
☕ Coffee mornings
🎳 Ten-pin bowling club
📚 Talking Book Club
🕺 Line dancing
🎉 ‘Fun Friday’ social events
The charity also organised one-off events tailored for children, working-age individuals, and those over 65.
Support at Southend Hospital
👁️ Eye Clinic Liaison Officer Tracey played a vital role at Southend Hospital, offering support to over 1,096 patients, ensuring they received guidance and assistance when needed.
