Joined by Reclaim Mobility, Pinetree Care Home was delighted to host a dedicated falls prevention workshop aimed at helping older adults stay safe, active and independent.
The session was led by Sam from Reclaim Mobility, who delivered an informative presentation covering the risks associated with falls and the practical steps people can take to reduce them. Falls remain one of the leading causes of accidental injury and death among people aged over 65 in the UK, but many incidents can be prevented through awareness, preparation and simple lifestyle changes.
Throughout the workshop, attendees were given practical advice on a range of important topics, including home safety measures, identifying early risk factors, and exercises designed to improve strength, balance and stability. The session also explored how regular movement and adapting living environments can play a significant role in preventing accidents and maintaining confidence later in life.
Residents, families, carers and members of the wider community all came together for the event, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The workshop encouraged open discussion, allowing attendees to share experiences, ask questions and gain valuable knowledge from healthcare and mobility professionals.
Pinetree Care Home said it was wonderful to see so many people engaging with the session and taking an active interest in improving health and wellbeing for older adults. The event highlighted the importance of community support, education and proactive care in helping people maintain their independence for as long as possible.
