Last month’s article on the proposed 10,000 new homes north of Bournes Green – the response from residents was overwhelming. People are rightly concerned, and many have reached out asking for more information and the truth behind this huge development.
This month, I’ve included views from others who, like me, are questioning whether Southend can realistically cope with such a vast project. These houses aren’t just a few new estates, they would stretch all the way up to Rochford, changing the landscape of our town forever.
Our roads are already congested, GP appointments are difficult to get, and our schools are full. Add tens of thousands more people, and it’s hard to see how the infrastructure could cope
This isn’t about resisting change; it’s about making sure the change is right for our town. We need growth that is thoughtful and sustainable, not something rushed through at the cost of our community and quality of life.
I urge you to read the information inside and, if you share these concerns, write to your local MP, Councillors etc., click here for guidance. Together, we can make a difference.
