Get ready for a night of spooky fun as the Southend Halloween Parade returns to the seafront on Saturday 26 October!

A vibrant and heartwarming event took place last week on Southend Pier, celebrating individuals with learning disabilities from across the city.

As part of the Council’s commitment to enhancing air quality across Southend, they initiated an innovative two-year Clean Air Schools Project last year, working with 11 schools. This project is funded by a £256,285 grant from the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

We have been made aware of a scam involving fraudulent text messages claiming to be from Southend-on-Sea City Council, stating that recipients have a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and providing a link for payment.

A report on the council’s finances up to the end of July 2024, four months into the financial year, will be discussed on Monday 16 September during the Cabinet meeting.

The council’s cabinet will be asked to agree on the council’s ‘preferred bidder’ for its recycling, waste, and street cleansing contract on Monday, 16th September.

This announcement follows the success of City Jam, which brought together over 200 renowned artists from around the world, as well as the launch of the city vision survey.
